Hopefully this isn't your first reminder to turn your clocks ahead this morning. The county already sprand forward with the opening date for the golf courses this season. The original start date of March 18 has been moved to March 25. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back at the course.
Registration opened this week for almost all of the MGA championships. The full schedule can be found on their website. While most of the events require a handicap of 8.0 or lower, a few members are eligible for the Public Links or the Parent Child Championships, and those of you who have reached 55 can check out the Senior Amateur Championship. If you are over 55 and have an Index under 18.0, you can partner up with a fellow experienced golfer for the Senior Four-Ball Tournament.
For everyone else who might be looking for a little competition but doesn't meet the handicap requirement, check out an MGA Play Day. The 2026 schedule will be released on March 17th, with registration typically starting April 1. These are one-day, net Stableford competitions that come with breakfast, lunch, and prizes for the top performers.
